general informationThe Media Art Festival for Young Talent takes place from September the 4th until the 14th . The festival location is daily opened to the public from 12.00-19.00 hr. The 2008 prime festival location is a beautiful monumental building, which formerly housed the Historic Centre, in downtown Leeuwarden. Here you‘ll find the information centre, the exhibitions and other events and activities that are all part of the Media Art Festival for Young Talent. Tickets are sold here for 3,- euros a piece as is the festival paper for 1,- euro. The five Young Talent award winners 2008 will be announced before the festival opens on September the 4th. The winners get a chance to be in the Artist in residence programme that takes place during the first week of the festival. Festival visitors can follow the Young Talents as they create new works of art on location. The René Coelho award ceremony takes place at the Dutch institute for media art in Amsterdam on September the 9th. But with modern technology there’s no reason why the ceremony can’t be followed in Leeuwarden.
